I couldn't care any less about most of the Rock n Roll stories I hear. I was just watching an HBO documentary about Rolling Stone magazine and they were talking about the woman who makes and collects casting of men's phalluses. I just get tired of the lore around Rock sometimes. The stories of inserting fish into women, the drug stuff, sex with groupies, all that. Yes, sometimes its entertaining to me, but really its just all pap. Sometimes I don't even care about the lives of my favorite rockers, but I do draw a distinction between salacious and titillating stories and real biographies of people.
To me, all the pap takes away from serious discussions about the music, it's meaning and the real stories around its creation.
