When the Cowboys first came into existance, I got to get into their home games free. They played in the Cotton Bowl, and they were only drawing about 16K fans per game. My best friend's step father was a guard there, and Scott's mother was an avid football fan. It didn't matter to her, she would pick a team and cheer for them. So the Giants come to town with Y.A and Rosie Grier, and they literally rolled over the Cowboys. Rosie rolled over Eddie Le Barron's foot, and the Boys had to bring in their second stringer (it might have been Dandy Don, I'm not sure. But the gist of the story is that one of my first pro football games I got to see 2 Hall of Famers, maybe more because I didn't know that about the pros.
However, my first pro football game was with that new league, the AFL. I saw the Dallas Texans beat the New York Titans for my very first pro game. It was rainy and shit, but nobody left because of it. Also the first time I ever had that stuff called "pizza." A great day for me.
