Thanks for that story Keno, it is amazing what interaction between father and son can produce. I too have a GREAT love for baseball cultivated by my father and grandfather. Your story made me want to revisit some of those early 60's league expansions made by MLB. In '61 the American League added two teams the Los Angeles Angles and the Washington Senators (for the 2nd time), then your dad was right in '62 the National League added the NY Mets and the Houston Colt 45's. I also loved the early football leagues and in 1961 the Packers defeated the Giants in the Championship Game. While I was looking at the 1961 schedule I did notice that the Lions NEVER played the Giants in 1961. AND, the only home game the Giants played in December that year was against those same Packers on December 3rd. Maybe that was the game you went too?? Or maybe another team in another month. ANYWAY again thanks for sharing that story about your dad.
