I'm sorry Keno, but you're wrong. Maybe not all, but mostly. Just because the Stones did some of the same drugs as hippies and the counterculture and rejected the establishment doesn't mean they fit the definition you've got going in your head. They didn't care about peace and love and optimism and making the world a better place and all that shit. They embodied rebellion, destruction, and independent masculinity. For the sake of nothing and no one. And they could be violent, both in song and in life, even welcoming it at times. Dylan cared for a while in his protests and we know all about the Beatles and the peace and love of San-Fran, but the the Stones were removed from all that. They cared about music for sure, but not in the same way as the counterculture. The Stones were real darkness and danger, the hippies were full of fluff.
