They were total hippies! Okay, not total, Charlie was no hippie, but MT was one before he joined the group, as was Woody, while Keith and Brian were a combo of being hippies and punks at the same time. MJ was the most hippie in the band for awhile. 100% hippie in the late '60s and early '70s, and Bill was into free love and banging as many woman as possible, while smoking more weed that Keith was toking (although Keith had other drugs he would save some room for, while for Bill it was weed only). Then you had Keith and Anita's pad in the South of France, where the band ended up recording most of EOMS. That large home was called a hippie commune for a reason. It had the look of one for sure, and the all of the many people living there were hippy freaks, too.
