That sounds like a profound life-experience, HR. Thanks for sharing--I hope you ponder it, and don't judge the guy too harshly for the next-day behavior. You never know what people are facing. In general, this is a serious problem in parts of the U.S., but one that a lot of us don't often get to see close-up. To try and feel what people feel, and to help them, is one of the biggest challenges of society. If this ever happens to me, I hope to hell I will react and behave with responsibility (like you did) but also with feeling and understanding.
