Somehow "forum ER of that genre" came out when I was intending to type "Forerunner of that genre". What I meant was that Bitches Brew is one of the first major Jazz Fusion albums. Although upon reflection there are others that predate Bitches Brew. There is some fantastic music within this genre. I could't get into it years ago but I somehow became a fan around 8 years ago. I love Miles Davis, but also Weather Report, Chick Correa, and a lot of other groups and artists in the category. Funny thing is, I still don't really get into traditional jazz. I don't get into guys like Coletrane or Monk. Some people look at you like you're insane when you say that, but early jazz, even the best stuff of the 1950s and 60s, just isn't my cup of tea. But the movements in Jazz that emerged in the late 60s and kept moving through the 70s and up until now - Jazz Fusion - is awesome to me.
