I've only ever been around to see them live with Ronnie playing so I'm extremely fond of the Woods era of the band. That said, the band was clearly better during both the Jones and the Taylor eras. Not much in between those two, the band was at a peak in a both. I don't think the band would have existed or certainly have become as great or celebrated without Brian there. He was of course instrumental in both the music and the performance. The Mick Taylor era just edges it for me though, the band was really flying during those years. So glad we've been able so see all incarnations of the Stones over 50+ years. There's so much to savour!
