It was heartbreaking. What happened is they let the Statue of Limitations run out for the charge of rape.
The question is, with all of these women raped by this nut, why didn't any of them do something before time ran out? I do believe he did this, I just don't know how nobody said a word.
(the only crime that doesn't have a statue of Limitations is murder)
That of course depends on where you live, as it differs in every country. In the U.S, that isn't how the law reads, it's: "Crimes committed in the U.S. that are considered heinous by society have no statute of limitations". so it doesn't just apply to murder. I know that for instance, that if you molest a child under the age of 13, and say 20 years later the grown child as an adult wants you charged for that crime committed 20 years ago, you can be charged, since this offence is now considered heinous and as been for about 5 years or so now.
