Freedom does come at a high cost, to taxpayers and to families who made and will continue to make sacrifices that benefit so many, including me....and also to the victims worldwide who become casualties of the mistakes and abuses we, as a country sometimes led by political fools, sometimes make.
The older I get and the more places I visit the more I cultivate a healthy respect for so much more than I used to, but we also have a right and a duty to question and challenge defense contracts run utterly amok in the name of profits. Even though I believe there are other ways nowadays to ensure freedom it is not lost on me what military might has also done. In short, I agree plenty with you, but I also think we waste a fair amount of pennies by way of corruption.
