Pluto, great story. Every Brit that had a boat took off and joined the cause to save as many British/French soldiers on the awful day(s). In a huge concerted effort they managed to save 350,000 troops and it turned into a huge propaganda victory for the Allies.
I saw the previews and it looks to be an outstanding movie of a true story. Hope you go see it! What could have been a slaughter on Dunkirk beach turned out to be a rallying cry for the rest of the war.
World War 2 was a fight for freedom. IMO, when the Germans went east to Stalingrad, it was the beginning of the end for Hitler. He lost 3,000,000 of his very best soldiers and 1,000 tanks. Hitler never recovered after that blunder.
The US had Hitler on one side and the Japanese on the other. Thank God Hitler went east and was decimated by the Russians. Ultimately, that's what cost him the war.
