Of all of the most important woman in the Stones lives (there was about 7 of them), not one of them came as close to being as important to the band as Anita Pallenberg was. The blond beauty, who first lived with Brian Jones for 2 years, and then left him for Keith Richards, whom she lived with for another 10. Keith taking her away from Brian alone had a major impact on the band, as it lead to the problems between him and Jones, which in turn lead to Brian leaving the band about 2 years later. She also had a fling with Jagger in 1969 when they were on the set of the movie Performance, which the 2 starred in, and something that Keith never totally got over.
Anita got the Glimmer Twins to totally reedit several songs on the Beggars Banquet album, and it was her idea, as noted by producer Jimmy Miller, to add the backing "Who-Who-Woo-Woo" vocals to the song "Sympathy For The Devil", which gave the song it's edge.
I guess we will never get to read that book that so many of us fans wanted Anita to write about the Stones; a book that Keith talked her into not writing years ago (and what some insiders say he paid her not to write). In her latter years she refused to even talk about the band.
RIP Anita Pallenberg, you were the 6th Stone for sure!
