My Fiancée loves Marvel movies and loves Morton Downey Jr
See, I won't even know that Morton Downey Jr had something to do with being some comic hero, I only knew of him as a being a bad druggie who was a half crazy talk show host.
My former son-in-law is a big time comic book collector, and I mean big time. He has all of these rare comic books and has one room in his house that is filled with them and he trades with others often and goes to comic book shows.
But me, nope, never opened up one, not that I can remember anyway, and when I was a boy I had a ton of friends (all Baby Boomers had a tons of friends since there were so many of us around back then), yet I can't recall any who were into them a lot. I recall one or 2 kids reading them from time to time, but that was it, most of my friends were't into them at all, so it wasn't just me. My problem as a kid was I hated reading anything, other than when I hit my early teens I started to read the newspaper everyday. But I was always only into real things, even when I was young, I didn't care to know a lot, or read about things that weren't real, that kind of stuff didn't interest me and still doesn't to this day, and comic books were as fake as you could get.
But why are they called "comic books" anyway? They aren't books at all, that's clear. They are made in a small magazine style setup, so why call 'em books when they aren't books?
