I'm afraid your initial thoughts on 'I Wanna Be Your Man' Keno, are completely at odds with the thoughts of the men who wrote it
That won't be a crime if it was true, but it isn't. Maybe at odds with one of them, but then again, Lennon was known to have said things he didn't really mean, too. Do you really think Lennon meant it when he said that Paul was a better drummer than Ringo? ..... Don't answer that! ...... But going by what you just wrote in your reply, then Jagger/Richards were right when they felt that "Satisfaction" wasn't good enough to release as a single. They were totally wrong to think that and in the very same way Lennon was totally wrong to say IWBYM was a throwaway song. Such songs don't make it to be a hit single if they suck and are throwaways. Lennon and McCartney might have "throw away" the song when they gave it to the Stones, yes, with Lennon thinking is wasn't gonna be a hit, but he was wrong, totally wrong!
