Gram Parsons? Are you kidding me?? He got to be in a rock band or 2 thanks to his family's money, that, and who he knew - again, thanks to his family's money. He might have been a nice guy and not your typical 1% rich kid, yes, but he was more of a druggie than a musician. He wasn't even close to being a genius.
Bowie? Not sure, he might have been one too, but he would be the first one to tell you that he was below Lennon on the ladder of life, too. He totally looked up to his friend John, and that's a fact.
Kevin Shields? I don't even know who he is, so I can't comment on him. I did just look up his name and I then realized that I have hear of him before, but that's it.
The bottom line is, what do you got against Lennon for you to claim that Gram Parsons was a better and smarter person then he? How many hit songs did Parson even write.... maybe... none? I also know that Lennon was the better musician, too. Pasons maybe was a bigger junkie than Lennon was, but I don't think that counts here.
