Tell you what gomper you're right I haven't heard anywhere near all of his stuff, but if I had I'm not sure it would change my opinion of his voice (is it slightly flat?), there are other voices in Jazz and swing I prefer. I have heard some of his mid fifties Capitol stuff though, and was totally amazed at the quality of sound those guys were getting back then....think we've talked about this before.
