I very much like the song and production as well, but somehow it doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of Pepper. Listening to the entire album, it's situated midway through and comes across as the "great separator" between sides one and two. It might be that George is the only Beatle present on it, along with session musicians. As such it's more of a Harrison solo piece, great nevertheless but lacking the synergy, in Beatles terms, of having the others involved.
