I myself have wondered this. What happens when one of the Rolling Stones dies? Will they go on? Will they go on as "The Rolling Stones"?
We cannot know the answer to this as there are just so many possibilities. I would guess that even they themselves do not know the answer to this.
What I do feel strongly about is that they will all make music whether together or separately until they can no longer do so.
I think many of us would have a hard time accepting them as "the Stones" without Mick or Keith. And losing Charlie would be heard too. I do hate to say this... but I will be candid. Rock N Roll is vocalist centered and guitar centered. Other players can be replaced and we have seen this many times with other bands. But I do feel that personally and emotionally, Mick, Keith, and Charlie would not wish to go on if/when one of them is no longer available. With that said, if two of these three greats were playing You Can't Always Get What You Want, would you actually dare to say that they would not be doing it as "The Stones"?
