This is a subject where there is NO WAY anyone can win. As Keno was saying, my past religious experience are almost identical with Keno's. I had to go to church (Methodist) until I was 10-11 and my Mom & Dad decided that if they didn't want to deal with a kid that was so hyperactive in church, laying on the floors & pews, I was miserable and just couldn't stand being preached At. So Mom & Dad finally gave up on my antics because I felt like I was going out of my mind and was more of an embarrassment than it was worth. So I dropped out of religion at aprox. 10-11 years old.
It never felt right. So, religion was something my family never brought up, never. My Dad went to church every Sunday his entire life, even after my Mom quit going at aprox 65. I have so much admiration for my Dad. I wasn't an easy kid but I did have good heart. Point being, even if I got in trouble, my Dad Never bought up religion, Never!
I respect my Father's unwavering faith and gave his weekly tithing with out fail his entire life. All his choice, nobody can make a grown man go to church. He was a great role model.
I've lost my 22 year old niece and her 64 year old Dad to suicide in the last 4 year's. This subject is not allowed to be bought up, period. My older brother is an Atheist and he's the only person I can talk to about religion. He makes no bones about it calling religion, just silly. Manny, I'm of the thought that there almost has to be a higher power, I just haven't found it yet.
