What is so sad about this news is that Chris' very best friend ever, Andy Wood, the lead singer of Mother Love Bone, died of a heroin overdose. MLB featured two of the members from Pearl Jam. They combined with another local guitarist and a San Diego surfer named Eddie Vedder to make up Pearl Jam. The members of PJ, in the wake of Andy's death, created a band called Temple of the Dog who wrote one self titled album, entirely as a tribute to Wood. So many of the songs are based on self destruction and many of the issues that Chris had to deal with on a personal level. It's funny....during his interview segments in the Pearl Jam documentary DVD "Twenty" (a MUST SEE for EVERYONE on this board, even if you don't like the band that much), Chris seemed so normal and real. He cried when he talked about Andy's passing. He seemed like such a warm hearted guy. What a voice, and a great writer as well. It looks like he went out Robin Williams style.
