Been here for 12 years now, having headed west from the Maryland-DC suburbs. No regrets whatsoever. Our place is about a mile west of Lucky Peak Lake as the crow flies. Idaho has some incredible natural beauty, and as noted a somewhat backward element as well. Did I say "somewhat"? Guess I was being kind! Fortunately Boise is a more diverse, cosmopolitan and progressive city, and people here tend to be live and let live. The combination of small town atmosphere, big city amenities, and agreeable high desert climate with mountains a few miles away makes for a very livable situation.
