I wonder what were the Beatles' main influences? Rhythm n Blues? Hmmm...not really, I don't think. When they first started playing the Cavern, Paul said they had a problem because they were supposed to play blues, but they didn't know any. I would think the Beatles were in the tradition of early rock n roll, deeply influenced by Elvis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, the Big Bopper, Bill Haley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis et al. As time went on--and particularly in Paul's case--it became less rock and roll and more vaudeville and show musicals influenced pop. John was mostly pop too, but less influenced by vaudeville and Hollywood musicals.
