Of course we can't agree on everything, and I can't agree at all that Mick had anything over John, other than yes, he has gotten to live a lot longer than John. But it wasn't even close in most of the other things.
As great a singer Mick is, John beat him out big time and it wasn't even close, John's singing was much better, hell, he was one of the best all time singers, period. John was also an underrated musician, whereas MJ isn't even known as anything more than a singer who in time learned how to play guitar well enough in the 1970s to play the instrument on record, and then in the '80s, live on stage.
Perhaps as songwriters go, we might have a tie there, I like both of them about the same, although John came up with more cleaver lyrics overall than Mick.
