For me, if a solo sounds good, then it's good. It's always possible to further analyze a solo's components based upon some technical criteria, and I will often do this myself. However, a brilliant technically perfect solo doesn't always save a so-so song. The Stones originated as a band that aspired to perform Chicago style blues & R&B. They did a credible job of doing that from their side of the pond, and that original standard is the measure they should be judged against, and not how they measure up against, say, Mick Taylor. So using that rationale I wood say that Ronnie acquits himself nicely.
