Hi,
Who do you think has done the best job covering songs? In the early days The Stones could have been known as the World's greatest cover band instead of the World's Greatest Rock n Roll band. They did a great job covering songs, and still to this day with the release of Blue And Lonesome what a strong CD that is.
Back to the main question who are some groups/singers that you think have done a great job of covering songs? For me:
Elvis Suspicious Minds, Promised Land, & Hound Dog plus many others.
Dwight Yoakam (he had a CD called Under The Covers) Baby Don't Go, Suspicious Minds, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, & Little Sister plus many more. Dwight for my money is able to cover Elvis and make the song sound good where as most of the time I only hear Elvis when his songs are being covered.
Joan Jett New Orleans, Hanky Panky, ACDC, & I Love Rock 'n' Roll. Joan is tremendous at covering songs.
Those are just some off the top of my head what are some of your favorite covers?
