RE: RE: RE: RE: Tasty Kakes and other foods (NSC)

" I mean, when Domino's is the best pizza around, well you got a problem, and that's the case out here!"

Awww Man! I feel you! That breaks my heart. (and my stomach)

Lots of great pizza polors around my way. I'm pretty good at making pizza too! I even make my own dough some times. I'm blessed with bakeries and even supermarkets that sell good/great quality pizza dough so I don't go that route unless I'm feeling hyper. Thing is, Trying to find a oven that gets hot enough. I took to cooking them outside on the Grill. I would love to get established enough some day to have a wood fired pizza oven on my property. Of course I'll have to get property first.

As far as them soft pretzels go. I guess N.Y. and Philly borrowed it from Germany. Well pretzels migrated here from Germany for sure. I don't care one way or another, I'm just glad they're here. Yum! But Philly seems to be fierce on the trade mark. There is even a Philly Soft Pretzel Factory franchise.

I got a sorta funny pretzel story, Years ago I went abroad and was fortunate enough to spend a late summer and autumn in Germany with a exchange student from my high school. I got way too many stories to post about that trip but as it started to unwind I told my friend " Dude I'm almost out of cash. I gotta go home" He told me stick around for octoberfest. "You'll thank me." So I did. And, I did thank him! After days of going from village to village, drinking all kinds of beer, (Every village in Germany has their own beer and are fiercely proud of it) I woke up with the driest mouth ever and was.....well snuggeling with a giant pretzel! Another reason I can't run for office.

There is a kicker to my pretzel story. While I was in Germany, my buddy took me up in a abandoned building to look over the Berlin Wall. It was covered in graffiti, no windows but offered a great view of East Berlin. It was cold and windy that day. I'm looking out over barbed wire, heavily armed guard towers, and people on the other side holding signs. I'll never, ever, forget that sight and feeling. So I ran out of money and had to go home.

5 weeks later, the wall came down. I missed the biggest party ever! By five Fu#%ing weeks!
