I'm skeptical of how acceptable it was, then or now. They pushed boundaries in this and other cases, but also knew where to draw the line in others, such as the cases of cocksucker blues and andrew's blues before that. [you've heard those, i assume]. Maybe young men (and old Trumps) just have a tendency for vulgar obscene things in certain surroundings and environments, and society does the best it knows how to keep them in relative check. Then again, it seems to be there must have been lots of lingering spite toward the establishment and business culture in general that spilled out in BS and other lyrics. After all, Britain really tried foolishly to make examples of them with drugs and that stuck with them. So did getting screwed by Allen Klein and the tax code, that stuck with them for a long time too.
