The Slade versions of which are much better.
I just put on "Slayed". Great LP.
Another one: tastes vary, of course, but Elf, with Ronnie Dio. Nothing like his later stuff, either with Black Sabbath or solo. Very straight rock 'n' roll. Perhaps nothing extraordinary, but I like it. Just a suggestion.
The members of Elf became Ritchie Blackmore's backing band for the first Rainbow album (minus the guitar player of course, if memory serves).
