I and a lot of other people grossly inflated the quality of A Bigger Bang--which is okay at best.
I couldn't disagree more! I gave the LP a nice rating, but then, after several months, I never played it again. Then about a year ago I noted that, and maybe the fact that I never felt like playing it, meant something - like maybe I really didn't like it as much as I thought when it first came out. So I finally played it and wow - it sounded just as good to me, and all I could think was.... that yes, this LP is great indeed!
A couple of Gassers have asked me in emails if/when would I review and rate Blue and Lonesome; well yes I will, and real soon! I wanted to wait a bit and not review it in the first month, since you do feel different about a new LP after time goes by some. But I think I'm about really to write that review now. Now I just got to find the time to do that... Plus, yes, anybody who would like to review the new LP in the Stones album page - please do, you can be the first one to do so! I haven't yet put up anything over there that notes that you can, so I need to do that ASAP! It seems that almost nobody reviews Stones albums over there anymore, although we got so many up on that page now anyway, and half of them are and have been closed to reviews for years now - a reason why nobody writes reviews there anymore, since everybody seems to only want to review the same, most popular Stones albums - and there are already enough reviews up for them. But anyone who wishers to write a review on that page for the other Stones LPs - the page is still up and read today - and very popular to lurkers indeed (kinda like Gasland today, a ton of people still read this joint, but not as many post anymore).
