RE: RE: stones songs going up

I understand that Brian Wilson was actually present at the L.A. session when "My Obsession" was recorded. This was during a time when Wilson's creativity and studio prowess were at their peak, so his favorable critical observations expressed toward the band certainly matter.

Yeah, particularly from '65-'67 Brian Jones was an unheralded equal in the band's rollout of new recordings. The GT's may have initiated most of those songs, but Brian certainly finished them. And the fact that he wasn't ever credited for this is a miscarriage of creative injustice that is perhaps unequalled in the history of popular music.

I saw the Beach Boys perform in concert a number of times during the 70's and early 80's, and while it can be said that Dennis Wilson was not a technically proficient drummer, he was an energetic force and seemed to be a good timekeeper as well, usually working with a percussionist. His solo work during this time, most notably "Pacific Ocean Blue" arguably overshadowed any technical limitations.
