Another rocker has passed away, Jerry Corbetta, Sugarloaf's lead singer, keyboard player, and songwriter. He died on Sept 16 at age 68, from a form of Alzheimer's disease, but I only heard of his passing today.
Sugarloaf was a Colorado band, name after the mountain west of Boulder that Corbetta loved. They had 2 top 10 hits in the '70s, "Green-Eyed Lady" (#2), and "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You" (#9).
Sad, you think 68 is too young to die from something like that, but no, it happens more often then many realize. I got a close friend who's 62, and he's in the last stages of dementia, which he's had since his late 50s, and I had another friend die of Alzheimer's at 67 a few years back. So it does hit some early on.
