RE: RE: RE: Snow on my pot plants!!!

Really, no joke! We went from summer here at about 1pm when it was 70 degrees (F), to a cold rain by 3pm, and about a half hour later - heavy wet snow!!

I, like everybody else in town who still has a garden going, was watching the skies and temps all day. Being the local weatherman, I knew this was going to happen for sure when I got a report in that it was snowing down below in the valley, less than an hour west of here, and the precip was heading this way. Like the lyrics in that song by Edgar Winter: "the mountain is high, the valley is low", well if it was snowing down below in the valley, I knew the rain here would be turning to snow shortly in the higher elevations, and sure enough as the cold front hit town, it did. But I was busy and still caught a bit off guard. I let the rain water the plants at first (they needed it) while I watched the temps fall into the mid 30s. Decided to close down the tomato garden and went out in the rain and picked all of the remaining tomatoes off the vines. As I finished, the rain started to turn to snow and knew it was time to bring in the pot plants. But it happened so fast. I had 10 plants to bring in, one at a time, and no family members at home to help me move them all, other than my grandson who was sick in bed (and underage). By the time I got half done moving them, heavy snow was falling on my pot plants and sticking to the ground! But I got them all in and tonight they look fine, but damn, the house smells like a damn grow house for sure with them inside, as they are at their peak budding stage right now.

...above all else, protect those pot plants, I know we can buy pot in stores, but's it cost a LOT more than tomatoes!!

Never buy it in stores when you can grow it for free! I don't even know what it sells for in stores today since I never visit any of them, but yes, I know they cost more than tomatoes, which we got a ton of now, be eating them for quite a while, and just like weed, they taste much better homegrown! Homegrown is alright for me, Ronnie!
