That is, in the weekly rock poll, but if you haven't voted in this poll yet, please do! I hate ties and right now we have a 5 way tie for first place and a 5 way tie for second! That's insane, we never have anything this close other than in the first 2 days or so, and once the weekend hits, there usually isn't too much movement on where the choices well end up at the poll's close.... So please vote if you haven't, the vote count right now is going very good, other than we got this major tie! Just to remind everybody, the question is: Who was the best of the uncredited or undercredited rock musicians and singers? and right now tired for first is Derek St. Holmes - Lead Vocalist and Rhythm Guitarist for Ted Nugent... Dick Wagner - Guitarist - for Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, Aerosmith, KISS, and others... Ellen Foley - Co-lead Vocalist on Meat Loaf's 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light'... Glen Campbell - Guitarist - Bobby Darin, Ricky Nelson, Elvis Presley, the Monkees, and many other acts, and The Funk Brothers - Session band playing on so many different Motown hits. Tied for second (well with a 5 way tie for first, that would actually be 6th place, but the second spot) is James Jamerson - Bassist - for Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations,The Four Tops... Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (aka The Swampers) - Session band playing on over 100 hits.....Rod Stewart - Vocalist - on first 2 Jeff Beck solo albums.... The Wrecking Crew - Session band playing on so many different hits including Wall of Sound hits....and Steve Hunter - Guitarist - for Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, Aerosmith, Mitch Ryder, others.
