RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE:Freaks/Woodstock/

I guess you could read up on that new album that came out about 5 years ago and see what that has on it. But we are talking about 4 days of music, they would need a box set for that to pull it off, and permission from every single artist. I never understood that deal the promoters had, usually they are allowed to release such material without asking, but several artists didn't allow their music to be showed (at first) in the movie when it was first released. Janis Joplin, the Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and there were a few others who only let their music be shown years later when the directors cut came out (which is worth seeing if you haven't seen it yet).. All of these artists played sets that started after 3am, and they all felt they didn't sound good enough to be shown in the movie. Janis sounded okay in what I heard of her set, and she was tripping on LSD when she performed. She was suppose to go on at 10pm or so, and around 11pm, she was told her spot would be held up until the next day. So she dropped some acid, then found out she was going to play in about 2 hours time, yet she still sounded good. Jefferson Airplane waited the entire night to play and didn;t get to hit the stage till around 7am the next morning if I recall correctly, and what is shown of their performance is terrible indeed, the band don't sound good at all and Grace sounded out if it, too.

The directors's cut of the movie was on MTV Monday night, but that wasn't worth watching at all, as MTV cut that take of it up and didn't even show some of the performances that were even in the first release of the movie! They even edited out all of the mild nudity shown while also beeping out words like when Stephen Still says to the crowd that "We're scared shitless!" I mean, just who are they trying to protect? Morons! Remind me to never turn on MTV again, it must have been the first time I watched that channel in 20 years - and I'll try to make sure it was the last.
