It was the Standard to start with. All of those great singles from the 40's 50's and the first half of the 60's all were done mono. Stereo remakes sound off IMO. The Beach boys included the mono mix in their pet sounds box set at Brians insistance because that was his preferred mix. It rocks! The mono mix of Satanic majesties is a force to reckon with. Got live if you want it! sounds like crap in the stereo mix. Albeit, I can't think of anything past 1967 I would want to hear in Mono.
