You still aren't paying attention to what I first wrote and the point I was trying to make. I tried to make it clear that it ins't about just making money, and that being all that matters to somebody, which is what is Daltrey's problem.
Again, make music because you love making people happy first, and your music will be that much better. I didn't say he shouldn't make any money at all (never said that), but that he shouldn't put down the fans who made him a rich man today buying all of his records. With all the money he has, why does he feel he needs to bitch about the very people (fans) who made him rich in the first place? Plus there's no crime to volunteer in the work you do for a living. So what if his income is made by making music, that doesn't mean he can't play for free once in a blue moon, like so many other rock stars have done. Hell, I'm not millionaire like he is, yet I did and still do what was a part of my profession for years, as volunteer work, people do this all the time. Like what I said about Bob Marley, he not only did shows for free, but got shot and almost killed for doing one show because some morons thought he was doing it for political reasons, when he wasn't. But hell, even if you do volunteer work for political reasons, you should not be shot for that, you should be praised for doing that, money in politics is the main problem with politicians and all of the corruption in that field.
Now I know what Daltrey is bitching about ins't about doing volunteer work, he's bitching about his work being stolen, which is different, but you brought up the point about he shouldn't work for free in what is his profession, and I disagree on that.
Is it fair that his work is being stolen? Of course not, but again, in that regard, he doesn't have to make it look like all of his fans are stealing from him when they aren't - that was what my bitch is with him. Everybody gets ripped off in life once in a while, since not all people in the world are good people, but, most people out there are not that way - and most of his fans (including myself) are good people, and he has balls to make it look like all of them are ripping him off when they aren't. If you're a fan of the Who and have brought records of theirs in the past, you should be pissed off at what he said too and not defend him for just wanting to make a ton of money while blaming you for what only a handful of his fans are doing.
