RE: RE:advice for ceiling fans (NSC)

What a great story, Keno - I guess it takes a 10 year old to understand such things, LOL.

I'd need scaffolding to get up to the fan, Keno - it's a really high vaulted ceiling (maybe 18 feet, and I get nervous once I've gone beyond three steps on a ladder, LOL, so I usually buy one step steps due to being vertically challenged and maybe a 2 or 3 step ladder for a few basic things around the house - or I also use those grab it things that mean I can just pull someting off a shelf without needing any help - I ought to get one for the car so that I can use it in the supermarket instead of always being helpless when things are high up and at the back too) - was built by a builder who planned to live here, but then a couple purchased if from him and they lived here for nine years. The house is only ten years old (same age as the child who showed you how yours worked, LOL). Anyway, I've walked all around downstairs and there's no round switch, so I tried all the switches in the living area downstairs (it's open plan, so there's loads of switches) - none worked, which didn't surprise me as usually the wires go in a straight line up or down from a switch), so I walked up the stairs and..... EUREKA..... there's one switch separate from a twin switch, and it turns the fan on (makes sense to have wires running up into the ceiling and along to it. Anyway, I didn't keep it running long enough to know how effective it will be - I've looked at the forecast for the next few days, and Sunday looks like it'll be warm enough to try it out!!
