The original incarnation of Crimson was a force of nature, and I always figured they disbanded way too soon. I saw them perform a couple of times during the "Lark's Tongue In Aspic" era and that phase was also very inspired. The second time in Santa Monica they did an "oldies but goodies" set as described onstage by the wry-humored Robert Fripp, and they proceeded to resurrect "Cat Food", "Schizoid", and a few others. I have a two-disc live CD from the original band and they play some selections other than what was on their first LP, some jazzy improvisation plus an eerie segment from Holst's "Planets". That would be cool to see some live footage as well.
