Plenty places in England - to visit - but not to live. London's a great place to visit and be a tourist, and there's plenty other places to see too. For more rural areas I like the Chilterns and the Cotswolds, and parts of Devon and Cornwall.
Gualala, California. Maybe I'm biased because I have a coastal vacation home there, but it really is the most wonderful place to be - though I gather people living there do get a bit stir crazy - the nearest big town is seventy miles away and it takes well over 2 hours to drive there due to the coastal winding road with hairpin bends, and driving down Hwy 1 in the dark is, to put it mildly, no fun. It's in a banana belt (that means the coastal fog often doesn't hit it - anyone who's spent any time around San Francisco will understand how cold summer in the fog can be).
In Canada - Vancouver Island - many of the towns are wonderful. It's an amazing place. If I could relocate there I would, but meantime I'll make do with having a vacation home and going whenever I can - will be there in just over a week for a month - am very excited. I've been told that some of the smaller islands are also great, so will take the car onto a ferry to visit some of them while I'm there. The First Nation People on the island were treated a lot better than Native Americans and also better than First Nation People on the East Coast of Canada - though they could've been treated better.
