How sad that the reason for the 4 day school week is financial. I guess that's "progress". Why can't the government fund solar panels? The world gets crazier and crazier.
Sounds like the East Coast gets a couple of weeks more summer vacation than in the UK.
The education system in the UK isn't what it once was due to cutbacks, but the schools still run a 5 day week and the three terms (with usually a 2 or 3 week break between and a one week half-term break each term) are the same as when I - and my parents - went to school.
