I agree with you totally about the decision making process of this list. There's at least five or six guitarists, including Ronnie, who I'd include - and several who I wonder how on earth anyone would even CONSIDER to be on the list.
However, I look at it differently with Ronnie in the Stones. Somehow he holds himself back in a way that he didn't in the Faces. Astrologically it makes perfect sense to me, because there was a particular aspect in the charts of 4 of the 5 members of the Faces that enabled them all to shine brightly, and it's not the same for him in the Rolling Stones. So we see a different side of Ronnie there - I wouldn't go so far as to say I've made a study of it, rather it's just so blatantly obvious to me - but then again I've never found anyone to have a conversation with about such matters - the astrological community certainly wasn't (and probably still isn't) concerned with the aesthetics of synastry. Those levels of being aren't easy to unravel. It's blatantly obvious to me, and if I were to talk to another astrologer they'd understand in seconds, but to try to explain this in any other way - maybe someone who's studied quantum physics or maybe bio physics would understand. I just wouldn't know where to begin explaining in daily everyday language.
