I notice that Republicans are now saying there is no "precedent" for filling a vacant Supreme Court seat this late in a president's second term.
Yes, asshole Cruz I guess said it at the debate last nite, but like everything else that comes out of his mouth, it's a flat out total lie and totally untrue. Ronald Reagan nominated Anthony Kennedy to the Supreme Court in his last year in office, in 1988, which of course was an election year, and the Democratic Senate confirmed him unanimously. Hell, the Dems could use that as an example of how when they control congress, things do get done even of they aren't crazy with the choices they are up against, yet not when the GOP is in control, as nothing gets done under them.
It has never taken more than a bit over 100 days to fill an open Supreme Court seat in history. So go ahead Republicans, the clock is already running, you got to the middle of May to break the record, and if you don't play ball by November, we will be looking at something that hasn't ever happened in the history of the US, 8 months of you blocking a Supreme Court nominee, and you will be blamed for that at election time!
