Certainly referring to a musician as "talented", yet falling short of calling him a "virtuoso", is not an attack on that musician. It is simply sharing an opinion. It is an opinion, it appears, every member of the Stones (past and present), including Charlie, share with Pluto, regarding Brian as a musician. They knew him and his abilities far better than anyone at this board.
Yet the talented, Brian, certainly nailed some memorable solos like his slide on NE, recorder on RT, and sitar on PIB. And he added so much more to the Stones music. I am very much a Brian fan for his musicianship.
I was under the impression sharing opinions here is what this place is all about. Human Beings being what they are, differing opinions will always be a part of a message board. Name calling should not be. It is taking the low road and people see that about the one doing the name calling. It makes them look bad, not the other way around. (And I know with Starbuck I stooped that low myself. Sorry Starbuck. I was in the wrong for calling you names years ago.) Respect for one's fellow gassers, if indeed we are a "family", should be rule Number One for everyone. Just my opinion.
As far as rudeness, we all need to be careful not to be, "The pot calling the kettle black". Two wrongs don't make a "Right" either. I learned these two cliches, which are brimming with wisdom, from my late great grandmother, Lois. God rest her soul. I miss that great lady.
Peace is so much better than petty fighting. I think everyone here can agree with that position.
