Hey manny I sort of agree with you on all of the razzmatazz that seems to surround big sporting occasions these days, just get the kick off under way, and let them get right in about each other I say. However, I did enjoy Beyonce and her dancing 'black panthers'(was there a bias being shown there?), what I saw of it.
The actual game itself I saw even less of, but I was interested in the comments down below. However in amongst all the offence, defence, fumble, crapping it, talk, nobody seems to have noticed the real reason why the Panthers lost. So here it is; Arbroath!
Arbroath is the birthplace of Graham Gano!
What dingbat of a Coach thought that he could pick a Scot to play in American Football's biggest game of the season, and have any chance of winning? Was he not aware that of all the sporting nations on Earth it is only the Scots who play to lose, our psyche is adjusted to glorious failure, we take a perverse pleasure in it.
Now from what I gather the Panthers never looked like winning the game, never in a position to. However, I guarantee that had it come down to a last second kick to win the Super Bowel, Gano would have fluffed it. There is no nation on Earth who's sportsmen and sportswomen know how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, like the Scots.
Arbroath btw is a dismal little town on the East Coast where the wind whistles in from the North Sea. What has it going for it I hear you ask? Well it has the best fish and chips I have ever tasted, it also has the 'Arbroath Smokie'. So if fish battered or smoked is your thing, Arbroath might just suit you.
It also has the remains of the ancient Abbey where the Declaration of Arbroath was signed in 1320, the Declaration of Scottish Independence. If you're willing to risk being in Arbroath after the sun(sic)has gone down, and look way out to sea, you might just locate the faint beam of the Bell Rock Lighthouse, an engineering marvel designed by Robert Louis Stevenson's grandfather. There's also a fine example of a post glacial raised beach to look at if Geology is your thing.
Other than the above, the best things about Arbroath are the roads South and West. In fact any road to anywhere that takes you away from Arbroath is good.
