I met Paul McCartney when I worked as a temp in London for about 4 years (mostly in secretarial capacity, but rather than be out of work I could work a few switchboards, so did receptionist work too) - his management office needed a receptionist for a week, and one day Paul & Linda came into the office - he was very insightful, really friendly and did his utmost to fit in with the conversation some of were having about the deli round the corner selling fresh apple juice for silly money (juicers were few and far between, so fresh apple juice was quite a treat). Having worked in a few offices in the rock & roll industry before and after then in permanent jobs, he clearly kept it real compared to so many musicians I came across who really didn't know their arse from a hole in the ground (and didn't know that they didn't know). It's well over 40 years since then, and I still remember him being such a kind caring person - though I've never been that big a fan of his music.
