There are some studio tape speed manipulations on "2000 Light Years From Home", and also toward the end of "She's a Rainbow". This is accomplished by slowing the tape speed down, using a separate track to sing along to the lead vocal & instrumental tracks playing at a slower speed, then returning the tape speed to normal. What results is a chirpy or childlike effect for the BG vocals. A similar effect was used for The Who's "Armenia in the sky", where Roger Daltrey comes off sounding more like one of the Hollies. Then there were those old Alvin & the Chipmunks records.
