Mick Jagger in the Stones poll. He was much more prominent in the 60s and had he gotten into smack the same way Keith did in the 70s, it is likely that the Stones wouldn't exist today.
Jim Morrison in the rock poll. Hopefully he won't hit the booze too hard and get pissing drunk. Jim was an oddity in the rock world: a man seemingly totally uninterested in earthly possessions. He never owned a home, basically lived in motels and owned little more than the clothes on his back. He was also educated and very, very smart. I think I would have enjoyed having a lengthy conversation with someeone like that.
Like Pluto, I have a second choice in case Jim doesn't show up (I would definitely not put it past him to do just that!) If Jim doesn't show up, Ronnie Van Zant gets the invite. Simply because anyone who writes such great lyrics has to be an interesting person to talk to.
"Hey Jude" gets a very, very generous 8. A couple of great songs such as "The Ballad of John & Yoko" save this one. But really... two songs previously released in 1964??? WTH???
I also don't much care for the repetitive, boring title track. Too long by half.
