I saw something on TV about this the other day, but what she actually said was, that the song isn't about Warren Beatty! Only one line from the song was, that being: "You're so vain, I bet you think this song is about you". Yeah, that one line only was directly about him, and as she out it, anybody who thinks a song is about them - is vain! But she said the song was written about 2 other, different guys, and when her new memoir comes out next week (called Boys in the Trees), we will learn at that time who the 2 are.
I always loved this song, so very well written and sang by her, and MJ does a nice job singing the backups, yes, but than again, his singing on there is nothing that special, either. Heck, when the song came out it wasn't even noted that he was on there, but then again you couldn't miss his voice, either.
It will be cool to lean who the song is really about after all of these years, it's perhaps the best and longest kept secret in the rock world ever (gosh, that would make for a great poll question!). Carly is 70 now, so yeah, it's time to finally tell everybody who the song is really about!
