Nope, it's the other way around. Derringer and Winter have spoken about this song in detail and there's no question as to who wrote it. Johnny didn't even like the song at first because the lyrics were too corny, but he said the song grew on him. There is a bit being played on SiriusXM right now, where Rick is interviewed and he explains why he wrote the song for Johnny.
