Stones poll: Brian Jones, and others here have already noted why.
Rock poll: Keith Richards... but.... I didn't vote for him since I know he will get into the final round without my vote, as will my second choice who I also didn't vote for, and for the same reason, that being David Gilmour. So I voted for Bernie Leadon, who would need a lot of votes to get in and I bet won't. But this guy is underrated on all the instruments he plays, and he's one of the only reasons why then Eagles made it big - just like BJ made the Stones stand out with his playing so many different things in the Stones, same deal with Bernie, who added in all of those bluegrass instruments to the Eagles sound and made them sound different and stand out, and yes, also including his acoustic guitar playing for the band... and for others, too. But no Bernie in the Eagles and a few Gassers I know would have no Eagles to hate, since they won't be around today without him being in there years ago, even if he no longer is in the band today!
VS poll: Rick Derringer’s version by a hair and for only one reason.... the backing vocals in his take actually do the trick for this song to work. Winter's version is just as good as Rick's solo one, but, the only real improvement heard on Rick's version is those back up vocals.
Fab polls: For poll 1, I give it a 9, with once again, only those 2 songs by George not as good as the other ones.... Poll 2, I give the entire LP an 7, and the music on side 2 sounds fine to me, (like a 8 or 9 rating ) if you dig that kind of music, and I do listen to such music once in a blue moon. But I drop my rating down to only a 7. How can I rate it that when I rate side 1 a 9 and side 2 a 8 or 9?? Because I don't wish to hear such music (non rock, non Beatles music) on a Beatles album, so it loses a point right there for that reason. I'll also note that Beatles fans usually look at this album as their band's Dirty Work, although now with the early voting, maybe they all don't, as the album is doing well in the early voting.
